Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Service
What we do?
We provide a variety of interventions and therapies for consumers who are experiencing acute symptoms of their mental health disorder and requires care within an inpatient setting. A person admitted to the unit can either be voluntary or involuntary under the NSW Mental Health Act (2007). A mental health clinician authorised by a consultant psychiatrist will conduct an assessment to determine whether an admission is the best option.
What to expect?
Our multidisciplinary team offers:
- Clinical treatment program
- Psychological interventions
- Function and vocation support
- Group activity program
Specialities from medicine, nursing, social work, occupational therapy, diversional therapy, psychology, and peer support will work collaborative with the consumer as a team. Community mental health clinicians will also play a key role in providing individual care and support when the consumer is transitioning from hospital into the community.
For any mental distress, please call the NSW Mental Health Line on 1800 011 511. If life is at risk please call Triple Zero (000) to receive immediate help.
