2019 SESLHD Improvement and Innovation Awards

Fifty-seven applicants, 33 finalists and 15 winners: the 2019 SESLHD Improvement and Innovation Awards were celebrated recently, showcasing innovation and outstanding patient care throughout SESLHD.

In his opening address, Tobi Wilson, Chief Executive, SESLHD, praised all the finalists for their innovative projects that advance the level of care given to our community.

“This is an exciting event for us as – a local health district – as we get to acknowledge and celebrate the fantastic work that has been completed in the interests of improving patient outcomes,” Mr Wilson said.

The awards were presented by the district's executive team alongside the 2019 awards sponsor, First State Super, and consumer representatives Dean Martin and Harris Mihalidis.

There were 14 award categories this year, including eight team awards, four individual awards and two peak awards.

A new award that recognises initiatives that support NSW Health’s vision for a sustainable health system, known as The Value Based Healthcare Award, was also presented at the event. This award highlights projects that are digitally enabled, invest in wellness and deliver outcomes to patients.

A number of the winning projects will be submitted as SESLHD nominations into the 2019 Ministry of Health Awards, which will be presented later in the year.
