A night fit for Hollywood
Glitz and glamour held court on Saturday 26 August as The Sutherland Hospital (TSH) celebrated their second annual Gala Fundraising Ball.
Dressed to impress in the theme of Hollywood Glamour, 300 local community guests and partners filled Doltone House in Sylvania to support fundraising towards the expansion of the hospital’s Cancer Services and Education and Research facilities.
The night was a huge success with Dancing with the Stars and Channel 10 presenter, Tristan MacManus MC’ing the night with 30 live and silent auction items. These items included a signed guitar from Ed Sheeran, a luxury holiday for eight in Noosa, Queensland, as well as beautiful antique jewellery.
It was great to have Emily and Matt Fehrenbach, announced as winners of the Gala’s raffle prize. During Emily’s cancer journey at TSH, Emily formed a close and positive relationship with the Cancer services team and so it was an honour to have this couple celebrate alongside the community.
The fun continued during the last two weekends of August, where a team of volunteers manned the gates at four different venues across the Sutherland Shire to collect entry feels to all Cronulla Junior League Finals series.
This was a fantastic opportunity to promote the hospital with its local community members as well as receive a substantial donation from the Cronulla Junior Rugby League towards the fundraising cause.
The volunteering didn’t stop for Father’s Day. Eight thousand dollars worth of 50/50 raffle tickets were sold as part of the “Sharks Have Heart” program!
A massive thank you to all who helped raise a staggering $65,000 towards the expansion of the Cancer services and Education and Research facilities at The Sutherland Hospital. Your generosity and time did not go unnoticed and is appreciated.
