Behind the scenes at the St George Hospital Redevelopment
As the St George Hospital Redevelopment quickly gathers pace, we have been given an exciting first look at what will be the foyer of the Kensington Street Building.
A recent site walk by the Redevelopment team provided a behind the scenes look at the ground floor entrance, now that the formwork has been removed. The foyer is set to transform the entire area, featuring a stunning, light-filled atrium, show-stopping artwork, retail outlets, ample seating, and a dedicated health promotion area.
“The recent site walk was a milestone for the Kensington Street Building project. We could finally envision how the space will come together to welcome and serve our diverse community,” said Allan Ajami, Redevelopment Stage 3 Manager.
“The ground floor is designed to be more than just an entrance—it’s a vibrant, inclusive space that will accommodate art works and finishes that connect to Country and bring the outside in, setting a new standard for healthcare design, promoting healing at St George. I’m looking forward to the community experiencing this transformation.”
The St George Hospital Redevelopment is a collaborative effort involving teams from Health Infrastructure, BESIX Watpac, Jonstaff Projects, and St George Hospital. The dedication and teamwork from both our internal teams and valued external partners is bringing the vision for the Kensington Street Building to life. Their collaboration plays a crucial role in driving the success of the St George Hospital Redevelopment.
The St George Hospital Redevelopment is due for final completion in late 2026. Keep up to date with the latest redevelopment news.
