Mental Health Services: Prevention and Recovery Centre celebrates 200 programs
The Prevention and Recovery Centre (PARC) in Bondi supports mental health recovery in a home-like environment. A partnership between SESLHD’s Mental Health Services and Independent Community Living Australia, PARC recently celebrated it’s 200th program since it opened in 2020.
PARC provides a supportive environment for people in the community who need more intensive mental health support. For people who have accessed our acute mental health services, PARC provides a safe and supportive option to continue their recovery in a residential setting. The Centre can accommodate up to 8 guests for stays of up to 28 days.
PARC utilises a Peer Work Framework to improve consumer experience. This innovative model of care has been embraced by the community as an alternative to hospital. The future vision, philosophies and principles of care encapsulate evidence guided treatment; trauma informed and recovery focused care; and support people to maintain and improve their wellbeing.
