Rockdale Children and Families Hub
The Rockdale Children and Families Hub is a welcoming and free community health clinic for families with children aged 0–5 years.
We support your child to grow, learn and thrive, and be ready to start school by providing health and development checks, and connecting your family to the right services, information and support.
The following health services are provided at the Hub:
- Child and Family Health Nursing
- Speech Pathology
- Community Paediatrician Clinic
We also link you to other services delivered by organisations we work with in the community.
Important information
Health services at the Rockdale Hub are free. No Medicare card required.
Open to all families living in Rockdale, Banksia, Arncliffe and Brighton Le Sands or by referral from one of partner services.
Hours: Monday to Wednesday and every second Thursday, 9:00am – 4:00pm

- Parenting support and advice, including support with feeding, sleep, behaviour, and daily routines.
- Health and development checks (Blue Book), including tracking milestones (talking, learning, moving and social skills), as well as growth, vision and teeth checks.

- Support for communication and language development including:
- Understanding language
- Using words
- Speech sounds
- Social communication.
- Monthly clinic at the Hub.
- Assessment and advice for children with developmental concerns.
- Referral required from the Child and Family Health Nurse.
- Help with booking free childhood vaccinations (1300 244 288).
- Available at Rockdale and Hurstville Community Health Centres.
- Free. No Medicare card required.
- We work together with other services to support your child and family and help you contact them.

Cross Cultural Worker in Maternity plus Child & Family Health Services
The Cross Cultural Worker in Maternity & Child & Family Health Services provides a FREE and CONFIDENTIAL service for women and families from migrant and refugee backgrounds, and International students who are birthing and/or using child and family health services in Royal Hospital for Women and or live in South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.
The Cross Cultural Worker provides:
- Support and education during pregnancy and for children 0 to 5 years
- Support to access and navigate services during pregnancy and into parenting
- Culturally appropriate pregnancy, birth and parenting information and education e.g. antenatal or postnatal classes
- Links to community support and networks e.g. playgroups or library
- Support transition from pregnancy and birth to child and family health services e.g. Child and Family Health Nurse in the local Early Childhood Clinic
Women and families can self-refer, be referred by a health professional or community organisation.
Interpreters will be arranged as required.
