This program provides support and capacity building for hepatitis C screening and treatment in primary care settings. iCHAT’s experienced viral hepatitis Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) builds the capacity of GPs to enhance screening, assessment and treatment of patients with chronic hepatitis C across SESLHD. The CNC works with GPs to identify people living with chronic hepatitis C who are appropriate for treatment in primary care and community settings, and those who require linkage to specialist treatment centres.
