Falls Prevention Program - District
As our population ages, few issues will affect the health and wellbeing of the older members of our community as significantly as falls and injuries from falls.
Yet falls can be prevented.
In South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, falls prevention programs are designed to reduce risk of falls or subsequent falls, and fall related injuries amongst our residents - both in the hospital and community setting. The District employs a Falls Prevention Coordinator whose role is to:
- Support the implementation of best practice in our health facilities
- Collaborate with local government, Primary Health Care, non-government and other service providers to reduce falls and injury in the community
This site provides information about staying active, healthy and preventing falls.
