Haematology - Information for Health Professionals

Our Haematologists provide consultative services for Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney Children’s Hospital, the Royal Hospital for Women and Sydney Hospital, and are responsible for diagnostic services across the campus.

All holding conjoint appointments with the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and contribute to teaching and training of medical students and postgraduate trainees. We have close working relationships with the Radiation Oncologists, Medical Oncologists, Adolescent and Young Adult Service and the Royal Hospital for Women in caring for our patients. Working closely with the paediatric haematology team we ensure a smooth transition in the care of patients with haemoglobinopathies and bleeding disorders.

Referring new patients to our services is quick and easy, simply email or fax a referral letter using one of the following methods:

For urgent referrals: 

  • Contact the Haematology Registrar through our hospital switchboard (9382 1111) or refer to POWH Emergency Department.

Please attach any relevant documents including, patient history and test results. Upon receipt of the referral our team will ensure that the patient information is triaged, the patient is contacted for an appointment

We have a dedicated team of experienced investigators and clinical researchers. Our work incorporates a comprehensive research and clinical trials program dedicated to generating new data, developing evidence-based therapies and bringing precision treatment to our patients.
