SESLHD Public Health Unit acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the traditional custodians of Country throughout Australia. We acknowledge the lands we work and provide care for as Dharawal, Gadigal, Wangal, Gweagal and Bidjigal. We pay our respects to Elders of the past, present and future generations and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Our team are committed to improving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health with shared knowledge, care and providing culturally appropriate services.
Free Aboriginal Vaccination Clinics
La Perouse Aboriginal Community Health Centre – vaccination jab clinics for Elders, Uncles, Aunties, adults and women who are pregnant are available fortnightly on Tuesdays between 9:00am and 1:00pm on Tuesday 5th November, 19th November, 3rd December and 17th December 2024. Bookings are not-required for adults, walk-ins are welcome. If you do not have a Medicare card, no worries you are still welcome. It is important to keep yourself healthy and protected. Free jabs (vaccinations) will be available to help prevent you from getting dangerously sick from a range of infections.

Menai Free Aboriginal Child Vaccination Clinics – Free Aboriginal childhood immunisation clinics for your bubs and kids are available monthly on the 3rd Thursday between 9:00am and 1:00pm. The next clinic dates are Thursday 21st November and 19th December 2024. Please phone 1300 244 288 option 2 to make an appointment. Walk-ins are also welcome.

COVID-19 vaccination – if you are 75 years or older and haven’t had a COVID vaccine in the past 6 months you should get your new COVID jab. For those aged 18 - 74 years, you are eligible for a COVID vaccination jab – please consider especially if you have other health problems. COVID vaccines are free, and available from our clinic or GPs and local chemists. COVID-19 vaccination jabs help maintain your COVID-19 immunity, to continue protecting you from COVID-19 and any new strains of this virus.
Influenza vaccination – recommended and FREE for ALL Aboriginal people 6 months and over EVERY year around March - May. We offer influenza vaccines at our clinic or you can see your GP (Doctor) or local chemist. Make sure your health service knows you identify as Aboriginal to qualify for free vaccine.
Pregnant women - Protect your newborn from whooping cough. We offer all vaccines due in pregnancy at our clinic, or speak with your GP, nurse or Community Health Centre about free vaccinations in pregnancy.

Maroubra Urgent Care Clinic is now open, seven days a week, from 8am to 8pm – please check out the website for a list of conditions that can be seen by a doctor and nurse at the clinic
